The Quantum Resistant Ledger is a decentralized platform that protects blockchain technology from quantum threats. But what is quantum computing and why is it so dangerous? Transactions through the blockchain technology happen thanks to a network of many computers with ever-increasing numbers of records called blocks that are encrypted and linked to each other. These blocks allow transactions to be processed securely. With the growth of blockchain technology and the spread of cryptocurrencies around the world, another danger is emerging.Recently, scientists and big companies started developing quantum computers with much more powerful capabilities than ordinary computers, which can easily deal with complex blockchain calculations. These supercomputers could jeopardize the blockchain technology making the transactions unreliable. Quantum computing is still limited, but it is believed that it will enter the market in 10 years or so. The Quantum Resistant Ledger was created especially for shielding against quantum attacks. It implements Extended Merkle Signature Scheme post-quantum encryption impenetrable for quantum computing. The founder of this platform is Dr. Peter Waterland, a core developer. He and his colleagues have years of experience with blockchain technology and post-quantum cryptography.
