In a bid to increase the number of skilled professionals in the country’s evolving blockchain economy, the South Korean government has launched a training program for blockchain experts who will set the new trends in the industry.
The training course is a result of the three-way partnership between Waltonchain – a Hong Kong-based IoT and blockchain startup, the KSA (Korean Standards Association), and the Ministry of Technology. Following the successful completion of the program in the early months of 2019, the participants would contribute to the development of the innovative technology immediately.
According to Wang Sang Hyeong, Waltonchain’s Secretary-General, the company will continue to offer hands-on support for business start-ups and employment. Moreover, they will continue to help educate professional employees and strengthen the growth of a vibrant and healthy blockchain ecosystem.
The move is part of a grand investment plan by the South Korean Government that stretches beyond 2023. In 2019, the South Korean government is also set to invest over $4.4 billion in innovative technologies like big data, blockchain, and artificial intelligence (AI).
The government is also sponsoring a broad youth training program that aims to fill the gaps in the growing innovation sector while tackling unemployment at the same time. In the meantime, a state-enabled hackathon is set to award prizes to teams that demonstrate innovative ways to use blockchain technology.
