Tezos is a blockchain project, that was once described by its developer as “the world’s first self-
amending cryptocurrency.” The name was generated via the Breitman’s algorithm. Similar to
Ethereum, its system is based on smart contracts and decentralized applications. Tezos Foundation
was developed by Arthur Breitman with the help of his wife, – Kathleen Breitman. The project
launched its beta network on June 30th, 2018 and currently has a total supply of 763 306 930 XTZ. In
2017 the foundation’s ICO raised 232 million USD, the most substantial sum up to date.
Unfortunately, it experienced some quite controversial and turbulent next few months, due to
mismanagement of the raised funds.
