Yer the cap'n of yer ship. Ye can hire as many pirates as ye'd like to join yer crew. However, ye can only take up to four pirates out to sea at a time. Additionally, ye must have at least one other crew member on board to help ye set sail. After all, what good's a cap'n without a crew?

AlgoSeas can be played with one, two, three, or four crew members. Getting your first crew member will cost you some $DUB. After you have at least one crew member, you can earn more $DUB by playing the game.
