Democracy4all Is An International Conference Held Annually Since 2019

When it comes to blockchain technology and the technological advancements it brings with it, few events have come close to bridging the new technology and democratic principles of governance than the Democracy4All international conference.

The two-day event, scheduled for November 11th & 12th at the Casa Llotja de Mar in Barcelona, brings together the brains of blockchain experts with the knowledge of proven policymakers to discuss the latest technology improvements and regulatory requirements in the context of democratic improvements in both social, corporate and individual governance.

This year the Democracy4All international conference is based on the 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance set by the Council of Europe. Those principles grant a base fundamental value infrastructure and define a common vision for democratic governance.

The 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance can also help nations to work on the further development of their service delivery to citizens and enhance the quality of their governance.

During the two-day conference, the organizers included a series of workshops, startup pitching rounds, roundtables, dinners, and cocktail parties. During the workshops, experts in the field of blockchain technology and DLT would emphasize on the current state of the European blockchain ecosystem, the use of DLT and blockchain as transformation tools, as well as the energy efficiency of blockchains.

One of the most powerful activities in the conference is the startup pitching, where participants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas for 7 minutes. VCs or angel investors would listen to the ideas and then will have 3 minutes to ask questions.

The main stage of the Democracy4All event would see over 45 speakers, including Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) John W.H. Denton, as well as the Vice-President & Minister of Digital Policies and Territory of Catalonia, and Mònica Roca - President of Barcelona's Chamber of Commerce.

Other speakers include business development managers, crypto attorneys, CEOs, and managing partners in many European startups.

Also, the conference brings a marvelous chance to network with other participants such as VCs, business representatives, or other main stakeholders. The organizers arranged two VIP dinners and 3 cocktail parties focused on allowing networking between people of interest.

Furthermore, the Democracy4All event would feature two online and offline hybrid roundtables, which will be organized depending on geographical location, to enable contrasting diverse jurisdictions and generate insightful debate.

In order for a roundtable event to work, the organizers did not put constraints on the topics, but the discussions would be held related to the techno-political space. The first roundtable would be focused on the Internet of Behavior, with Ignasi Oliva, Innovation Manager Blockchain Technologies at i2CAT Foundation, being its moderator. The second roundtable, scheduled for November 12th, is related to Liquid Democracy.

You can buy tickets for the event at the Democracy4All website, with Early Bird tickets starting at €50.00 for offline attendance and €25.00 for joining the event online. The general admission tickets grant users access to the rooms where the different activities will be held, such as roundtable discussions, startup pitching sessions, and main stage displays (keynotes, speeches, award ceremonies, and more).

The VIP admission ticket gives access to both days of the conference. Apart from the activities in the general admission ticket, VIP tickets grant their owners access to VIP Areas, as well as networking VIP Cocktail meetings.
