Gamers Unchained Highlights the Power of Decentralization and Player Empowerment in Gaming
Gamers Unchained gathered the brightest and best gaming thought leaders, Web3 innovators, and gaming industry professionals to have a dedicated discussion around decentralization and empowering gamers. Powered by Blockchain Staffing Ninja, the event took place during the Global Games Show: Abu Dhabi and helped to serve as a platform to explore and examine the paradigm shift taking place between players and digital worlds and ecosystems due to the adoption of decentralization technology.
The top session started with a highly engaging panel discussion entitled "Unchaining Gaming: Decentralization and Player Empowerment" on the role of blockchain technology and decentralization in empowering gaming players in digital identity, assets, and experiences.
Jon Radoff of Beamable spoke about the value of a decentralized backend infrastructure and the opportunities that open systems might offer to game developers. Next up was Romain Schneider, CEO and Chairman of the Board at SPECTARIUM, talking about the concept of immersive digital spaces, along with the opportunities that a decentralized world presents to the player economy.
The discussion in the session was led by Jorge Luis Jimenez. Interestingly, Jorge Luis Jimenez is also the CEO of The Gaming Strategist. The relevance of the discussion in the context of the topic, in terms of content, is that player empowerment stopped being a technological innovation, and what the topic basically signifies is a shift in thinking.
Following the panel discussion, the conference continued to the networking event, which enabled all participants to interact with the speakers as well as the other participants. The developers, entrepreneurs, and investors, as well as gaming industry professionals, networked and discussed various topics pertinent to the future of the gaming industry within the decentralized environment.
