With Over 5,000 Attendees And 100+ Side Events, The IBW Was The Platform Enabling Web3 Thought Leaders To Help Shape The Narratives For India’s Role In Web3 Innovation

India Blockchain Week (IBW), the country’s flagship series of blockchain and Web3 events spanning from Dec.4-10 in Bangalore, is delighted to share that the week-long Web3 gathering has been a roaring success. Over 5,000 builders, investors, policymakers, executives and enthusiasts from India and abroad gathered in Bangalore to discuss blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, DeFi, NFT, the Metaverse, Web3, GameFi and more.

The jam-packed week featured 100+ Web3 events including flagship events such as the headline IBW’23 Conference, ETHIndia, Polygon Connect, Polkadot Pulse, FILBangalore, networking events, workshops, a demo day, 10+ hackathons, parties, etc. hosted by Indian & global blockchain industry stakeholders. It presented the attendees with unparalleled opportunities for networking, collaboration, and discussion.

Tak Lee, CEO of Hashed Emergent, said, “This year's IBW is significant in that it is the first in India where about 5,000 participants working for or enthusiastic about the Web3 industry come together voluntarily to organize over 100 diverse events. I hope that starting this year, IBW will become an annual event representing India's Web3 industry and serve as a festival showcasing India's strength in the Web3 industry to the world.”

The IBW'23 Conference organizers Hashed Emergent, a team and brand dedicated to accelerating the mass adoption of Web3 in India, also expressed their sincere gratitude to the 125 speakers who took part in giving keynotes or panels at the conference.

Hashed Emergent released two insightful reports during the India Blockchain Week (IBW) Conference:

  • The 2nd Edition of the India Web3 Landscape Report. The 2023 report provides an overview of India's evolving Web3 landscape, covering topics such as the rise in digital asset adoption, growth in Web3 gaming, and the burgeoning startup ecosystem with a focus on blockchain technology and increased developer participation.
  • A comprehensive report co-authored by Hashed Emergent and dYdX, aimed at providing a comparative analysis of Traditional Finance (TradFi) and Decentralized Finance (DeFi). This report delves into an in-depth exploration of three key sectors: savings, exchanges, and lending.

Given that the event was based in Bangalore, India, many were interested in Web3 projects coming out of the Indian blockchain scene. The Indian startup ecosystem has transitioned from leveraging cost advantages to driving global innovation, including in Web3. India's interest in Web3 is primarily driven by its young and tech-savvy population who are looking at web3 as the next big thing in the age of the internet.

The IBW’23 Conference organizers are thankful to all the attendees who traveled to Bangalore to participate in India’s most significant crypto event, as well as the sponsors who made it all possible. Avalanche was the title sponsor for IBW. The gold sponsors were Polkadot, Internet Computer, Glip, Ledger, Aptos, and Hunch. The silver sponsors included Bharatbox, Saber, FireDrops, dYdX, Supra, Orbs, Zoth, Persona, Berachain, and Shemaroo.

The conference will return for IBW’24 to discuss and explore new trends, innovative solutions and the future of crypto.
