Today, Sofia is once again highlighted on the world map as a hub for technology, innovation, and talent with the opening of Webit 2024. For the 17th consecutive year, global business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs are gathering in Sofia for an event that enhances Bulgaria's positive image before the global business community, media, and investors.

This year’s theme focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainable development. Over 2,500 guests from around the world are in Sofia to discuss the latest in technology, innovation, and investment.

The official opening ceremony begins at 9:30 AM at the National Palace of Culture (NDK) and will be inaugurated by the Mayor of Sofia, Mr. Vasil Terziev, who welcomed select guests last night in the city's historic center. He encouraged them to invest in Bulgaria and will continue meeting with potential investors during the event.

A key highlight of the day is a special conversation between Dr. Plamen Russev, founder and executive chairman of Webit.Foundation, and Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare—a leading cybersecurity company valued at $27.5 billion. Together, they will discuss how AI is being used to combat global cyber threats and navigate the digital challenges of the new era.

Another significant session will feature Sonika Kapil, chief AI architect at Microsoft, who will present the future of customer service through AI technologies.

In parallel with Webit 2024, the Future Forum will launch, focusing on interactive workshops led by top global speakers. Topics include building and managing successful teams, leadership, and personal skills for the new reality.

The day’s highlights include presentations from prominent figures such as:

• Fredrik Härén, an internationally renowned creativity researcher and best-selling author, who will explore unlocking creative potential.
