Horace Martin, has spent over 20 years in the venture capital, blockchain, internet, telecommunications, multimedia, industries in various line and staff positions. His general management experience is a result of positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, customer service, technical operations, corporate finance, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions throughout his career. These positions were held in companies such as GE (General Electric), AT&T, and SNET. Horace has completed assignments in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. In addition to corporate roles, Horace has also worked extensively in management consulting for clients of all sizes. He has, time and time again delivered proven superior results for clients. Horace founded Operon Partners, a B2B Internet Accelerator, which grew to over $10 million in sales and had equity positions in 10 to 15 startups. Operon Partners raised and executed a venture fund that made 5 successful liquid investments. Consequently, Horace also had a great track record of working with and helping startups grow, particularly those needing to move successfully from the seed stage to Series A and Series A to Series B financing. Key executive positions held over the duration of Horace’s career includes Company Founder, Venture Investor, Business Unit President, Vice President of Business Development, Vice President of Strategic Planning, Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions, CFO, Director of Sales & Marketing, Operations General Manager, and Director of Government Relations. He has also consulted with both large and small companies in the high technology industry. Large company clients’ examples include Toshiba America Information System’s Computer Systems Division, Netscape, Bell Canada, Telecom New Zealand, Lotus Development Corp, Enron, and Clarke American. Small company client examples include SpaceWorks, TCSI, Equinox, V-ONE, Builders SupplyNet, ComVersant, Delphi, Interactive Technologies, etc. Horace holds both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in finance and operations management and a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from New York’s Columbia University.
