I advise on digital assets, ICOs, cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies and across other areas of specialism to deliver the services required on every FinTech project, whether advising on corporate transactions, peer-to-peer lending, e-money and payments services, e-commerce in financial services, cybersecurity and data protection, data hosting, managed services and outsourcing, technology development and procurement, or systems integration projects. I also advise on an ongoing basis in relation to a wide range of regulatory matters, from legal compliance to establishing financial institutions in Ireland, and in relation to the standard form documents used by banks and other financial institutions to transact business. I was previously a member of the Financial Institutions Group at Matheson. Matheson’s Financial Institutions Group provides legal services to insurance and reinsurance companies, insurance intermediaries and captive managers active in Ireland. I have particular experience in advising on the establishment, authorisation, compliance, corporate governance and restructuring of insurance and reinsurance operations in Ireland. Specifically the Financial Institutions Group covers all aspects of insurance law and regulation including advising on insurance and reinsurance mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and joint ventures, portfolio transfers, cross-border mergers and schemes of arrangement, agency and distribution arrangement, capital raising, both debt and equity, structuring and advising on insurance linked securities transactions, drafting and advising on insurance and reinsurance contract wordings, advising on compliance issues including consumer protection laws, solvency requirements and corporate governance matters, providing taxation advice on all issues related to the insurance and reinsurance industries litigation. I worked in the Matheson's banking group which is acknowledged as a leader in the Irish market and consistently advises on a full range of significant domestic and international banking transactions involving Irish companies and financial institutions, including property and acquisition finance, restructurings and workouts, syndicated lending and project finance. I also advise banks on an ongoing basis in relation to a wide range of regulatory matters, from legal compliance to establishing financial institutions in Ireland, and in relation to the standard form documents used by banks and other financial institutions to transact business. Our clients include all the major banks operating in the Irish market. The Banking Group has grown significantly over the past couple of years and is now one of the largest dedicated banking practices in Ireland.
