Dr Vidy Potdar is an entrepreneur and technologist who holds a PhD in Information Security from Curtin University (Australia) and Masters in Information Technology from University of New Castle (Australia). He is an expert in cybersecurity and IT security; he is also a smart contract developer and a crypto-investor. He recently launched http://potdar.info where he shares his ideas on recent blockchain developments and aims to develop this as a knowledge platform for blockchain enthusiasts and businesses. He has over 15 years of combined industry and university experience involving teaching, contract research, and consulting and technology development. Vidy has worked with numerous industries in Perth on diverse projects including Department of Transport (data analytics), Main Roads (traffic congestion management), Fleetwood (energy management), StatoilHydro (Internet of Things). Currently, he is involved in blockchain development on several platforms including Hyperledger and Ethereum. He is also an ICO advisor and regularly runs training sessions and workshops on blockchain and smart contract programming. He is currently involved in developing and deploying three blockchain projects for supply chain based data provenance for metal and mining industry, dairy industry and container shipping industry. He has keen interests in supply chain industry and currently working on his startup offering food authenticity services using blockchain. Working on these projects has provided him with intimate knowledge of blockchain technology and ICO development from conception to execution. He regularly appears in media (TV, Radio, Newspapers, Online) sharing his technology insights. His expertise lies in blockchains, distributed ledgers, smart grids, data management, cybersecurity, and social analytics, with application in the energy sector, supply chain and logistics, and mining.
