Wilson WeiSheng Wang

Wilson Wang was born and raised in Singapore. Post the mandatory National Service in Singapore, he attended the National University of Singapore and graduated with a Bachelor Degree (First Class Hons) in Computing, with a minor in Technology-Entrepreneurship on the NUS Overseas College program with Stanford University Management Science & Engineering Dept. During his stint at Silicon Valley, California, USA, he worked in various startups such as BitMicro Networks and InfoFountain Inc as marketing analyst and business development director. He also attended various corporate leadership programs from University of Virginia, Darden School of Business and University of Michigan, Ross School of Business and INSEAD. He considers his goal in life to be the role-model father for his 2 young children. Being a returning Temasek Scholar, Wilson began his professional career in Temasek Holdings. His career in Temasek spanned a decade where he was rotated among various departments within the Corporate Development, Investments and Markets (Southeast Asia) Group, including secondment stints to asset management platforms such as Fullerton Fund Mgt and ST Asset Mgt. Wilson was also a pioneer member who helped established SingBridge, a Temasek subsidiary to assist in the negotiation efforts with Chinese government officials for the Sino-Singapore Guangdong Knowledge City Project. Wilson joined Fosun International, a Shanghai-based, SEHK listed investment conglomerate in mid-2016 as the Managing Director of the Southeast Asia investments department, with key focus in the Healthcare, Consumer and Internet, Media and TMT, Logistics and Tourism sectors in the exciting SEA markets. Subsequently, he left Fosun and came back to SG to rejoin the Temasek ecosystem as a VP in ST Asset Mgt, focusing on public market credit investments. More recently, with angel and seed support from mentors, friends and ex-colleagues, Wilson founded Opet Pte Ltd in Singapore in 1Q 2018 together with his India-based CTO, Ameya Kulkarni, with a vision to bring affordable private digital tuition to the lesser privileged students of the world. He has also founded Opet Foundation, which is 100% owned and managed by Opet Pte Ltd, to also advance the social mission brought possible by digital technologies. He aims to bring these disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Chatbot and Blockchain technologies to the Education field, to address the global class divide phenomenon.
