Catcoin (abbreviated CAT) is an open source, decentralized cryptocurrency based on the Litecoin fork. It was launched in December 2013. The total coins in existence are 21 million. Block time is set at 10 minutes with 50 coins reward per block. The reward halving interval is 210,000 blocks. Catcoin implements a Proof of work algorithm scrypt. There is no initial premine happening.
The primary focus of the digital currency is to establish a strong and growing community and to improve the lives of cats and their humans. Exchanging CAT can be done on Cryptopia. Wallets are available for Windows and Mac users. Miners can join many pools like Geekhash, Cat E-Pool, Prohashing, and others.
