Bitcoin Diamond (BCD) is one of the Bitcoin's open source hard forks with a running blockchain. It uses
legacy signing for all non-SegWit transactions and BIP143 for the rest, which makes it different from
other Bitcoin forks that use only BIP143 for every transaction. Bitcoin Diamond is set to occur at the
predetermined height of block 495866 and is based on Bitcoin core. The currency doesn't have a lot of
wallet support except for the BitPie wallet.
The creators of BCD are investing a lot in the privacy part of this cryptocurrency, trying to make this an
advantage to Bitcoin, which is not able to solve all of its anonymity issues. One of the differences
between Bitcoin Diamond and Bitcoin is that they multiply the supply by 10, so while one million Satoshi
equals 1BTC, 1BCD is as much as ten million Satoshi.
Bitcoin Diamond is run by an anonymous foundation whose details and whereabouts remain a secret to
the public, which makes it difficult for people to trust and support the coin.
