IslaCoin is an open source alternative cryptocurrency of a hybrid type with an approximate sixty seconds block time. It is created with the long-term goals of providing an energy-efficient, scrypt-based digital asset, so users can rely on an independent and managed decentrally, means of payment. IslaCoin is based on the very popular X11 algorithm and offers both transparent and private transaction types. Hence, all payments data is stored and published on a public blockchain, but the recipients, senders, and the amounts of transactions remain private. This bitcoin alternative was first announced in June 2015. The native token of the IslaCoin digital currency is with a symbol ISL and 35.1million is the total supply of ISL coins. It uses a combination of Proof of Stake and Proof of Work (PoS/PoW) methods of consensus algorithm. The transmission of data traffic is taking place immediately, and there is no fixed amount for mining. As the PoW phase has come to an end, the PoS phase begins with a fixed 12% staking interest rate per annum. As of 2018, the ISL currency is trading on both Yobit and CCEX crypto exchanges.
