Obsidian is a platform that combines a private and secure messenger application with a cryptographically-secure coin that allows users to have decentralized communications. The servers are replaced with specific fully-decentralized nodes that every user can host and further receive Obsidian Coins as compensation.The decentralized and secure communication-oriented network is therefore owned and operated by no single facility but instead by thousands of random users spread throughout the whole world. Communication data can be collected at a Central Point, which is scattered equally around hundreds of hosts throughout the globe, making it nearly impossible for somebody to find out who is communicating with whom, even when those communications are under surveillance.The Obsidian project aims to take further the design of the already-existing secure messaging a considerable step, changing its architecture from a server-centric network to one fully-decentralized network.
