WAX, also know like Worldwide Asset eXchange, is a decentralized platform that offers a marketplace for online video games. Its goal is to decentralize exchanges meanwhile allowing users to purchase goods with global tokens. It has two main missions - to enable a new generation of virtual goods traders in the same way that modern marketplaces let entrepreneurs become power sellers online or hosts for travelers via services such as Airbnb and to help them enhance millions of dollars for small business owners by bein g easy to use and available almost everywhere.

WAX aims to: serve 400+ million of online players, collect, buy, and sell exclusive in-game items. It may sound strange to the people outside of the gaming community that gamers are willing to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars for virtual in-game it ems such as "skins" that customize the in-game appearances of characters, and unique weapons, but it's a fact.

Wax seeks to eliminate most of the many problems that occur with the exchanges in online video games by providing a decentralized platform that makes sure the delivery is safe and fast and without expensive extra charges for an intermediary.

The majority of WAX was sold on pre-sale for about 45,5 million dollars, and even though the WAX team isn't launching until the fourth quarter of 2018, the OPSkins community they will be adopting is constantly growing at 200 000 new registrations per month.

The WAX platform isn't of much interest to people outside the gaming community, but that's not a problem since it's not trying to become the next global payment system and is seeking to contain its functions within the gaming community.
