New Horizons for Ethereum Classic
Anthony Lusardi, Director of Ethereum Classic Cooperative, created plenty of social media buzz and community excitement with the Twitter announcement of the final phase of MetaMask support integration.
This is an important step for Ethereum Classic, as MetaMask is a plug-in that allows Ethereum transactions on regular websites by overcoming the gap between the web and Ethereum’s user interface. The MetaMask add-on is the communication channel between Ethereum dApps, smart contracts, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Brave web browser, without the need to run an Ethereum node.
Ethereum Classic (ETC) is a smart contract framework, which is public and based on open-source blockchain decentralized technology. The classic Ether token is exchanged on crypto asset trades under the name of ETC.
The Ethereum platform operates under two versions: "Ethereum Classic" (ETC) and "Ethereum" (ETH). The disagreement in DAO Hard Fork with the Ethereum Foundation led to the arrival of Ethereum Classic.
The ETC Cooperative (the "ECC") purpose is to provide financial support and lead the growth of the Ethereum Classic through marketing activities, community management, and network development. It brings to life projects that are either out of a budget or driven by the needs of the community members.
In an official statement, the ECC communicated its mission: "We enhance promotion by translating ETC's message and helping newcomers embrace the possibilities of ETC's open and decentralized nature. We encourage them by ensuring the different assets the network utilizes are well managed. This incorporates social media platforms, sites, community groups, and by documentation."
